Job Title: Maintenance Head – Cashew Processing Plant

Location: Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast (Africa)
Experience: 10–15 Years in Industrial Maintenance (preferably in food/Agro-processing plants)
Educational Qualification: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Head to oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our fully integrated cashew processing facility in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast. The ideal candidate will be an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record in preventive maintenance, utility management, and team leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plant Operations & Performance:
    • Ensure uninterrupted functioning of all machinery and utilities by maintaining the plant at optimal operating levels.
    • Minimize breakdowns and maintain high equipment availability to support continuous production.
  2. Preventive Maintenance & SOPs:
    • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the maintenance of all machinery and utilities.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to maintenance protocols.
  3. Downtime Management:
    • Analyze and reduce machine downtime through effective troubleshooting and preventive action.
    • Coordinate closely with the production team to ensure maintenance schedules are aligned with operational requirements.
  4. Spare Parts Management:
    • Maintain adequate stock of critical and fast-moving spare parts to reduce downtime risk.
    • Establish reorder levels and track inventory using maintenance software or manual logs.
  5. Electrical Infrastructure Management:
    • Oversee operation and maintenance of HT (High Tension) and LT (Low Tension) power systems.
    • Ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in power distribution across the plant.
  6. Statutory Compliance & Audits:
    • Ensure timely completion of annual statutory maintenance audits and inspections.
    • Liaise with relevant authorities and ensure all statutory norms related to plant and machinery are met.
  7. Environmental & Factory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all local environmental, pollution control, and factory operation regulations.
    • Maintain documentation and records required for audit and regulatory purposes.
  8. Infrastructure Maintenance:
    • Oversee maintenance of buildings, utilities (water, compressed air, lighting, etc.), roads, and other civil infrastructure.
    • Plan and execute regular servicing and upgrades.
  9. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, train, and motivate the maintenance team to improve skills and ownership.
    • Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  10. Result-Oriented Approach:
  • Demonstrate a go-getter attitude with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement and lead initiatives for plant efficiency.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance tools and methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and crisis management skills
  • Ability to manage contractors and vendors
  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
  • Fluency in English; French is an added advantage
