Job Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Government Sales Manager to lead and expand our IT networking and cybersecurity business within India’s public sector. This role demands a strong understanding of government procurement processes, existing relationships across ministries, PSUs, and defense sectors, and a proven record in closing large-scale IT infrastructure and security deals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end business development for central/state government departments, PSUs, and defense clients
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new sales opportunities through GeM, CPPP, tenders, RFPs, and strategic national initiatives (e.g., Digital India, Smart Cities)
  • Build long-term relationships with government stakeholders, procurement bodies, system integrators, and consultants
  • Position and sell advanced networking and cybersecurity products (firewalls, NAC, SIEM, SD-WAN, endpoint protection) tailored to government requirements
  • Collaborate with internal pre-sales and technical teams to design customized proposals
  • Ensure full compliance with tender documentation, contract guidelines, and procurement policies
  • Stay updated with government IT mandates and security frameworks including CERT-In, MeitY, NIC, and emerging policies
  • Represent the organization at public sector events, IT forums, and exhibitions
  • Manage pipeline reporting, forecasting, and achievement of quarterly/annual targets

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related discipline (MBA preferred)
  • 5–7 years of experience in IT sales with strong focus on government and PSU accounts
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement tools like GeM, Rate Contracts, CPPP, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity product suites
  • Excellent communication, government stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
  • Strong proposal writing and documentation abilities
  • Prior relationships in PSU/govt. procurement is a major advantage

Preferred Certifications:

  • Sales accreditations from major OEMs (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Awareness of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and MeitY security guidelines
